South African President Jacob Zuma, in his capacity as the chairperson of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) Organ on Politics, Defence and Security Cooperation, will on Friday host a meeting of the grouping in Pretoria about the way forward for crisis-ridden, his office announced Thursday.

Zuma is expected to host his fellow SADC double troika leaders for the extra-ordinary summit of the group set to take place in the South African political capital, the Presidency said.The Deputy President and SADC Facilitator to Lesotho, Cyril Ramaphosa, returned from Lesotho Wednesday evening after being sent there by President Zuma to assess the recent political and security developments there.

The double troika is made up of Zimbabwe, South Africa, Botswana, Namibia, Malawi and Lesotho.

The meeting will be preceded by a double troika ministerial and senior officials’ meeting.
