South Africa’s Capitec Bank closes over 2000 accounts on ‘dodgy’ saving scheme
Capitec CEO Gerrie Fourie said that the drastic action to close the accounts was to protect its banking clients. “We actually closed over 2 000 accounts that (were) involved in the scheme. Some of the clients became extremely violent and we had to bring in security guards.” Fourie said.
